There is something for everyone.

Merrijig is the perfect hub for the wide range of activities in the area. Within half an hour we have a number of great historic Hotels, great restaurants (some in the Hotels), wineries (Delatite shown in this photo), a distillery two breweries, some of Australia’s best trekking, cycling areas and 4x4 exploring options, fantastic fly fishing locations, hot air ballooning… Here’s some of our favourite things and how you can access them (see our Blog posts for a summaries of our actual experiences).

  • Horse Trekking.

    What better activity in ‘Man from Snowy River’ country - one of the top local Trekking companies is based on our road ‘McCormacks Mountain Valley Trails’. A high country day trek including the famous ‘Craigs Hut’ costs from $350.

  • King Valley Wine Country tour.

    You can head over to the valley yourself or get us to drive. Fully inclusive, 3 Vineyards, lunch in a Historic pub guided tours are from $180 per person. You can hire a van and guide from us and put together your own personal combination from $600 for the day (plus your own tasting and meal costs).

  • High Country and Huts guided tour.

    A guided high country tour in a 4x4 bus including Bush Ranger points of interest, Craigs Hut and a picnic lunch of local wine and produce. From $200 per person.

  • Kids day out.

    There are plenty of options including the Mansfield Zoo, the Maze, the Botanical Gardens, Mansfield mini golf.

  • Mountain Biking or cycling generally.

    Mount Buller has one of the worlds top rating bike parks. There 26 trails covering over 107 klm. There are bike shuttles operating from Mirimbah (just down the road). The Victorian Rail Trail starts/finishes in Mansfield we can shuttle you too and from.

  • Local food and wine.

    ‘The Hunt Club’ is across the road, ‘Delatite Winery’ just down the Road, ‘Delatite Hotel’ in Mansfield does outstanding pub meals, the ‘Swift Crest’ distillery is only 30 minutes. As if you need guidance or transport.
